Ways to Give

Cash, Checks and Credit Card
Cash gifts offer a tax deduction for the full amount of the gift in the year it is made. Pledges may be made over a period of five years.

Securities
Gifts of stock are tax deductible at the full fair market value. Please contact the Foundation Office for transfer instructions.

Gifts of Tangible Property
Sheridan College Foundation may accept gifts of property on behalf of the college or for purposes fulfilling the foundation’s mission. Gifts of tangible personal property require special consideration to insure that such property can be used, maintained, or disposed of in a manner consistent with the wishes of the donor and the purposes of the Foundation and the College.

Bequests
Bequests can be a specific dollar amount or asset, a percentage or the “residue” of your estate. It can be restricted (to be used for a specific purpose) or unrestricted (to be used for general purposes at the college).

If you are considering a bequest to Sheridan College please contact the Director of Development. We can work with you or your advisor to document the intent of your gift, assuring your wishes for the gift are fulfilled.

If you have already made a provision in your will for Sheridan College, we invite you to contact us so that we may thank you. If you prefer to remain anonymous your gift will be kept confidential.

Deferred Gifts and Life Income Gifts
Sheridan College Foundation accepts deferred gifts such as life insurance policies, life insurance policy beneficiary designation and bequests. Life income gifts include gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. The Foundation can work with the donor’s personal legal and financial advisors to ensure the gifts are structured to benefit the donor’s interest first while providing benefits to the college.
