Family Learning Center

Children can play while Moms or Dads study

Studying and supervising young children presents a challenge to parents seeking an education to advance themselves and their families. Contributions from Sheridan College Foundation donors funded the Family Learning Center, a space in the Kooi Library that welcomes Sheridan College students who have young children.

The Center has quality books and fun activities tailor-made to pique the youngsters’ interests and keep them entertained.  Katrina Brown, Director of Library Services at the Kooi Library, stated that “the Family Learning Center has made a tremendous difference for our parenting students. We regularly see small children bouncing down the hall excited to be going to the library while Mom or Dad study.”
